"Oz the Great and Powerful" (PG)
It's a prequel to the 1939 classic "The Wizard of Oz", about a small town illusionist who's sucked into a tornado and transported to Oz, where he manages to convince everyone he's a powerful wizard. The Kansas scenes are all in black and white, just like in the original movie, and everything switches to color once he lands in Oz. And of course, what Oz movie would be complete without flying monkeys and a green-skinned wicked witch.

"Dead Man Down" (R)
Noomi Rapace from "Prometheus" blackmails Colin Farrell after she witnesses him killing a guy. But it turns out they both want revenge against Terrence Howard, who scarred up her face and killed Farrell's family. It's directed by the guy who did the Swedish "Girl with the Dragon Tattoo".

"Emperor" (PG-13)
Matthew Fox from "Lost" has the job of deciding whether Emperor Hirohito should be hanged as a war criminal after the surrender of Japan at the end of World War II. Tommy Lee Jones plays General MacArthur.
