Statistics on Memorial Day
1. According to a new survey, 75% of people who own a grill plan to use it this weekend.
2. And Memorial Day is the second most popular holiday for grilling. Fourth of July is number one, followed by Memorial Day, Labor Day, Father’s Day, and Mother’s Day.
3. The survey also found we prefer gas grills over charcoal, but just barely. 39% of people said they prefer cooking with gas, and 35% said charcoal. They didn’t list any results for wood.
4. But here’s how much Americans LOVE grilling. The survey also found that 30% of
grill owners have at least TWO grills. No word on now many have MORE than that . . .
but if you’re manning five grills at a time this weekend, bravo.
DAVID NAIL was recently talking about his album “Fighter”, which will be out July 15th. He really opened up about the title track, which was inspired by a rough spot in his marriage. He and his wife Catherine were about four years in when, for some reason, he was totally convinced she wanted out. He said, quote “There were so many moments where I would come home from the road and be like, ‘Is this the Sunday morning her car’s not in the driveway?'” The good news is that the car was always there . . . because she was NOT about to give up. He’d walk in the house and find her in the living room insisting that they deal with their problems instead of running from them. She told him she wanted to fight for the marriage. Quote, “So that’s what the song is about. It’s like, ‘I thought I knew everything there was to know about you, but I never knew I had a fighter.'”

ALABAMA is getting an exhibit in the Country Music Hall of Fame. It’s called “Alabama: Born Country,” and it’ll feature awards, musical instruments, tour memorabilia, photographs, and stuff like that. It opens August 25th.
SHOCKER!!!! This seems like it came completely out of nowhere, but JOHNNY DEPP and AMBER HEARD are getting divorced. She filed on Monday. Incidentally, that was just three days after Johnny’s mother died. They were only married for 15 months . . . they got hitched last February. She’s asking for spousal support, and he asked the judge to DENY that request. They didn’t have a prenup. Johnny is 52, Amber is 30. This was Johnny’s second marriage. He was married to a makeup artist from 1983 to 1985. Then he was engaged to Jennifer Grey, Sherilynn Fenn, and Winona Ryder. That was followed by a four-year relationship with Kate Moss. Then came his 14-year relationship with model VANESSA PARADIS. They have two kids together. There’s no word if Johnny and Amber broke up over the chaos that erupted when they illegally smuggled their two dogs into Australia . . . which resulted in their ridiculously awkward and insincere apology video. Johnny still isn’t letting that go, by the way. On “Kimmel” Monday night, he suggested that the Australian deputy prime minister who made such a case out of the dogs looks like he was, quote, “inbred with a tomato.”
Do you stick with the standard ketchup-and-mustard combo on your hot dogs, or do you go crazy and just pile stuff on there? Well, according to a new survey, the average American uses ELEVEN different toppings. But that’s over the course of a year, not all at once. And it includes everything from ketchup to cheese. The most popular toppings are mustard, ketchup, cheese, chili, onions, and relish . . . 73% of people said their favorite way to cook hot dogs is on the grill . . . and the number one topping we want to TRY is bacon.
