On Thursday, January 18th, at 7:30 PM Conococheague Audubon Society will present a free professionally produced nature film entitled “Magic of the Snowy Owl”. This is a documentary on the Snowy Owl, a bird of prey that breeds in summer in the high Arctic tundra. They move south in winter. Sometimes large numbers appear south of the Canadian border, even as far as Pennsylvania. The film will be shown at the Chambersburg Area Middle School, 1151 E. McKinley Street, Chambersburg, PA 17201.
Donations at the door will benefit Audubon projects to support local nature conservation, Audubon Adventures for classrooms, the Native Plants Garden at Norlo Park, and other activities. At 7:00 pre-film live musical entertainment will be provided by Cumberland Valley School of Music with Ritma Cordia: Marlin Barnes and Jane Peatling, playing marimba and cello. Door prizes will be drawn at intermission.
