"White House Down" (PG-13) Channing Tatum and Jamie Foxx star in this action thriller about the White House being attacked and taken over by terrorists. Jamie is the President, and Channing plays a D.C. cop who's there because he wanted a job with the Secret Service. Maggie Gyllenhaal is the Secret Service agent he interviews with, and Joey King from the "Ramona and Beezus" kids movie plays Channing's daughter . . . who's also trapped in the White House when the terrorists attack.
"The Heat" (R) Sandra Bullock and Melissa McCarthy star in this buddy cop movie about an uptight FBI agent who's forced to team up with a foul-mouthed Boston cop to take down a local drug lord. I'll let guess which one is which. It's directed by the guy who did "Bridesmaids". Marlon Wayans is also in it, but he doesn't get a lot of screen time. And there's a cameo from Joey McIntyre of the Backstreet Boys as one of Melissa McCarthy's brothers.
This picture of Scotty McCreery was drawn by my sister, I think she is a great artist. Her name is Lydia Chagoya, she is 15 years old, a sophomore at Forbes Road High School. She has been drawing for a couple of years now, and has done several drawings for her friends. She is considering to auction off some of her drawings to help, needy families, but at this time no plans have been made.
"World War Z" (PG-13)
Brad Pitt plays a former U.N. troubleshooter trying to locate the source of infection during a zombie apocalypse. He has to leave his wife and kids on an aircraft carrier while he goes around the world to see if any other country has found a cure. And the zombies aren't the slow, shuffling type you see on "The Walking Dead". They're runners, like you'd find in a video game, and they can swarm over each other to get over walls and climb buildings.
"Monster's University" (G)
Billy Crystal and John Goodman return as Mike and Sully in a "Monsters Inc." prequel that shows how they first met, as college rivals learning to be "scarers." It's expected to easily win the weekend box office and pull in about $80 million. That shouldn't be too hard since it's playing on 400 screens more than "World War Z", in over 4,000 theaters.
"The Bling Ring" (R) (Limited Release)
Sofia Coppola wrote and directed this movie about a group of teenagers preying on celebrities. It hit five theaters last weekend, but is expanding to 650 theaters today. Emma Watson is one of the juvenile delinquents who robs the homes of celebrities like Paris Hilton and Lindsay Lohan . . . using gossip sites like TMZ to see when they're out of town, and figuring out where they live with GPS and Google Maps.
For mediums, I use quite a variety of them. Acrylic, watercolor, and oil paints, wood burning and wood carving, colored pencils, regular graphite pencils, pastels, charcoal and also pen and ink. As for my background I have no formal training in art (other than art in High School) , just always having a pencil in my hand as far back as I can remember, always drawing and spending many of afternoons watching my dad draw. Over the years I would experiment with different styles and mediums, trying to get better with them and more detailed. I've always dreamed of being a Illustrator for Children's books. Always wanted to help give the author help in showing their characters that are in their heads to the rest of the world. especially with children and their imaginations. To give them a visual of who or what they are reading about, an image that just helps them with reading and enjoying the story more. At first I only did drawings and paintings for friends and families. Recently in the last year I was laid off so that gets you thinking and especially when you have dreams, so I'm starting to follow my family and friends advice and starting to branch out and sell my art work and take a shot at my dream.
"Man of Steel" (PG-13) This complete reboot of the Superman franchise has no connection to 2006's "Superman Returns". It stars Henry Cavill as your new Superman and jumps straight to General Zod as the main villain.
"This is the End" (R) Seth Rogen co-wrote and helped direct this comedy where he and his actor friends react to the world coming to an end during a party at James Franco's house. The main cast includes Jonah Hill, Jay Baruchel, and Craig Robinson.
The Grand Ole Opry put together a highlight video honoring CARRIE UNDERWOOD'S five-year anniversary as an Opry member.
Someone isolated TAYLOR SWIFT dancing in the audience while FLORIDA GEORGIA LINE and NELLY performed "Cruise" at last week's "CMT Music Awards". The point being that even famous people look kind of stupid while dancing in the audience.
Q: Why do old firehouses have circular staircases?
A: Firehouses have circular stairways because the engines were at a time pulled by horses. The horses were stabled on the ground floor, and figured out how to walk up straight staircases.
Q: Who and when was the first ever camera invented?
A: The history of the camera is long and complex. Louis-Jacques-Mande Daguerre invented the first photographic device in 1836. George Eastman popularized photographic film in 1885. However, camera like devices appeared years earlier.
Q: Where in the Atlantic Ocean does fresh water exist for more than 100 miles?
A: The Amazon River enters the Atlantic with so much volume that fresh water exists more than a hundred miles from the mouth of the river.
Q: There are about 150 of these on top of Mt Everetts?
A: 150 Bodies
Q: Out of all US cities, this one has the most psychiatrists per capita.
Vince Vaughn and Owen Wilson are two unemployed salesmen with outdated computer skills who talk their way into intern positions at Google . . . where they'll then have to compete against dozens of tech-savvy college students for a job.
"The Purge" (R)
In the future, on one night a year, you can LEGALLY COMMIT ANY CRIME you want . . . even murder. During that 12-hour period, hospitals are closed, the police can't be called, and it's up to you to figure out how you're going to survive the night. The night when everyone releases their darkest impulses is called "the purge," and Ethan Hawke's gotten rich off of selling security systems to make people's homes impenetrable, so they can defend themselves from their homicidal neighbors.
