Hey Tri-State! I wanted to first thank everyone for all the support over the last few years. Working at WAYZ has been an awesome experience and it is mainly because of you. A little about me? Well, I am from Reading, Pa and went to York College to earn my degree in Speech Communication. I am in a sorority, Delta Phi Epsilon, and my sisters have had a huge impact on my life. I have great friends and an even better family. My younger brother David is my best friend and I am so blessed to have such a great sibling. I rescued a 3 legged cat, named Uno, who makes me smile everyday. I have always been a very upbeat, annoying girl who always has a smile on her face. Lastly, I couldn’t imagine working so closely with anyone other than Tiny. Tiny has become one of my greatest friends and I am so glad we got paired up to try and make your mornings a little brighter! I have always loved radio and microphones and I am so lucky that now I get paid to talk on one. It’s fantastic! Feel free to email me firstname.lastname@example.org at anytime with requests, stories…anything! Thanks again for making my job the best job in the world.

As I said the other day, I've been finding easy and delicious recipes on Facebook. I've shared a few of them and I definitely wanted to share this one:
Easy Cream Cheese Cupcakes:
2 packages (8 ounces) cream cheese
3/4 cup Imperial Sugar Extra Fine Granulated Sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract ... 14 -18 vanilla wafers

You will also need: mixing bowl, electric mixer, measuring cups and spoons, cupcake liners and cupcake baking pans.

In a mixing bowl, mix cream cheese and sugar until creamy using an electric mixer.
Add eggs and vanilla. Then, mix well.
Place liners in baking pans. Put 1 vanilla wafer in each cupcake liner. Put 2 tablespoons of mix on top.
Bake in preheated oven for 15-20 minutes or until tops are lightly brown. Let cool.
Put 1 tablespoon of cherry pie filling on top and serve.
Happy St. Patrick's Day. This morning in the top of the morning 10, we told you different, interesting facts about St. Patrick's Day. If you missed them, here you go!
#1.) ST. PATRICK wasn't Irish. He was born in either Scotland or Wales, and was brought to Ireland as a slave.
#2.) You know what else isn't Irish? "Danny Boy". It was written by an English songwriter named Frederick Weatherly . . . he set it to an Irish melody called "Londonderry Air".
#3.) Also, "When Irish Eyes are Smiling" was written by two Americans.
#4.) St. Patrick's name wasn't Patrick. It was actually Maewyn. And the holiday marks his DEATH, not his birthday.
#5.) America is way more Irish than Ireland. There are approximately 36 million Americans with Irish ancestors. The population of Ireland is about 4.5 million.
#6.) 1% of all the beer in the WORLD is consumed on St. Patrick's Day.
#7.) Guinness sees the biggest boost of any individual beer on St. Patrick's Day. On the average day, people worldwide drink 5.5 million pints of Guinness . . . on St. Patrick's Day, it jumps to at least 13 million pints.
#8.) America's bar tab on Sunday will be approximately $245 MILLION.
#9.) Americans are in the middle of a new love affair with Irish whiskey. Sales of Irish whiskey are up 400% since 2002. They've even jumped 22.5% in the past 12 months.
#10.) Approximately 133 million American adults . . . or 56.3% of the adult population . . . will celebrate St. Patrick's Day this year. And 84% will wear green.
This morning, we discussed the man in Australia who was deemed a hero for dragging a shark away from small children. Everyone thought he was a hero, except for his place of employment. He wasn't supposed to be on vacation, he was supposed to be on sick leave. The higher-ups saw the video, that has since gone viral, and fired him. His wife also was out "sick" and has since been fired. The story is very unfortunate, but the video is truly amazing. Anyone who would go up to a shark and pull it away is a hero in my book.
Mark it on your calendars, April 27th. It's the MS Walk 2013 at Antietam National Battlefield! We want to make this year as big, if not bigger than last year. We raised a lot of money and had a lot of people on the Hayride Hiker's team, let's do it again!

-According to entomologists at the University of Florida, a swarm of "MEGA MOSQUITOES" is set to invade central Florida this summer.
--The mega mosquitoes are technically called gallinippers. But when they're attacking you, their proper name is probably the least of your concerns. Because they're 20 TIMES BIGGER than regular mosquitoes, and their bites REALLY hurt.
--The gallinippers could hatch this summer, because of the flood waters caused by tropical storms. Usually their eggs just stay underground, and don't all hatch at the same time . . . but when the water pushes them above ground, they hatch.
--The scientists at Florida say you can keep them off of you with strong bug spray and by covering yourself up as much as possible.
