Your Hometown Country Connection

Hey Tri-State! I wanted to first thank everyone for all the support over the last few years. Working at WAYZ has been an awesome experience and it is mainly because of you. A little about me? Well, I am from Reading, Pa and went to York College to earn my degree in Speech Communication. I am in a sorority, Delta Phi Epsilon, and my sisters have had a huge impact on my life. I have great friends and an even better family. My younger brother David is my best friend and I am so blessed to have such a great sibling. I rescued a 3 legged cat, named Uno, who makes me smile everyday. I have always been a very upbeat, annoying girl who always has a smile on her face. Lastly, I couldn’t imagine working so closely with anyone other than Tiny. Tiny has become one of my greatest friends and I am so glad we got paired up to try and make your mornings a little brighter!  I have always loved radio and microphones and I am so lucky that now I get paid to talk on one. It’s fantastic! Feel free to email me at anytime with requests, stories…anything! Thanks again for making my job the best job in the world.

I don't know about this one.  Can you get on board with this??

Next month, Crest will be releasing CHOCOLATE TOOTHPASTE . . . for adults.

The flavor is called Mint Chocolate Trek. Later in the year, they'll also be releasing flavors called Lime Spearmint Zest and Vanilla Mint Spark.

As far as we know, the flavors are all totally artificial . . . like, they aren't adding ACTUAL chocolate to toothpaste.

A Crest executive says the toothpaste is targeted at, quote, "experiential consumers." Which is basically corporate speak for, "we're making up words, so please just buy this."

I submitted a photo of my cat, Uno, to The Chive.  If you're unfamiliar with The Chive, it's an app that posts a ton of different photo albums.  It's highly enjoyable and I check it daily.  Every Saturday, they post an album called "Cat Saturday."  This is the photo I submitted of Uno.  Keep your fingers crossed that she makes it!!

In the new issue of "GQ", KATY PERRY discusses her belief in ALIENS.

She says, quote, "I see everything through a spiritual lens. I believe in a lot of astrology. I believe in aliens. I look up into the stars and I imagine: How self-important are we to think that we are the only life-form?

"I mean, if my relationship with [PRESIDENT OBAMA] gets any better, I'm going to ask him that question. It just hasn't been appropriate yet."

Here are some other stars who don't think we're alone . . .

JADEN SMITH thinks Obama DID give away the existence of extraterrestrials to him . . . quote, "I talked to President Obama about extraterrestrials. He said he could neither confirm nor deny the existence of aliens, which means they're real.

"If people think we're the only people that live in this universe, then something is wrong with them."

In 2007, TOM CRUISE said, quote, "Are you really so arrogant as to believe we are alone in this universe? Millions of stars, and we're supposed to be the only living creatures? No, there are many things out there. We just don't know."

KEANU REEVES once asked, quote, "How can it be possible that we are the only beings in the universe? I don't know if or when we will get to meet them, but it's absolutely inconceivable that we won't get to meet them sometime."

"Alien" star SIGOURNEY WEAVER is convinced . . . quote, "We are not alone in the universe. I think there's a department in our government that is exclusively dedicated to quashing reports about aliens. And that's so unfair.

"It would be nice if we weren't just able to read about it in the tabloids."

DAN AYKROYD is a believer, but he doesn't think we'll ever get to meet the aliens, because we're SAVAGE IDIOTS . . . quote, "They don't want anything to do with us. I don't think we will ever have a formal relationship, a formal contact, with any alien species out there.

"Especially after 9/11, when we broke our toys in the sandbox. If they were observing that, goodbye human race."

ZOOEY DESCHANEL isn't sure anymore, but when she was a kid she DID believe, thanks to a cruel trick her sister EMILY played on her.

She says, quote, "I grew up believing my sister was from the planet Neptune and had been sent down to Earth to kill me."

ALICIA KEYS thinks there are aliens among us, in disguise. But if one wanted to take her into space, she'd have to check him out first . . . quote, "I would have to feel the alien's vibe. It had to be the right vibe."

Meanwhile, both SAMMY HAGAR and FRAN DRESCHER claim to have been ABDUCTED.

Fran says the aliens left a chip in her, and Sammy claims they uploaded stuff from his brain.

I have become a HUGE Game of Thrones addict.  I do believe it is one of the best shows I've ever seen.  If you're like me, you'll be pleased to know the fourth season will premiere on April 6th.  HBO is releasing a trailer on Sunday night before a show called True Detective.

Get ready, Winter is coming...

We've all wondered this: how long does it take to freeze a wet t-shirt?  Well, a guy in Iowa found the answer.

If your New Year's resolution was to eat healthy and look great in 2014, you may want to use some tips from Reba.  Reba is a big juicer and she still looks amazing at 58.  She's obviously doing something right.

She tells Country Weekly, “I do it every morning.  I try to stay more vegetable than fruit because there’s more sugar in fruit. Also, the reason that it’s so important is because your digestive system needs a break and it doesn’t have to digest the juice. You need one meal a day that is a liquid.”
