Your Hometown Country Connection

Nicole Williams

I am so thrilled to be in the area and get to learn more about you the listeners.  A few things about myself?  Here it goes.  I have been in the radio industry for around 15 years, which is hard to believe.  I began my career in Lynchburg, VA, continued in Radford, VA and now am proud to call myself a resident of PA.  My love for Country music runs deep.  If I could pick one song, which is absolutely a tough decision, I'd choose The Tin Man by Kenny Chesney.  I'm a lover of Billy Joel, America, the Virginia Tech Hokies and my dog Bingo.  It's a simple life, but it makes sense considering my affiliation with the best music on Earth.  I look forward to getting to know you and appreciate your continued support and love for all of us here at WAYZ.

Meet Ziggy!
SUPER AFFECTIONATE & TONS OF FUN...THAT'S ZIGGY! This handsome pup was left in our outdoor kennels 4/30/15, when he was about one year old. He's happy-go-lucky and always seems to be in a good mood. Have a seat and Ziggy's likely to launch himself into your lap, enthusiastically showering you with affection. He never met a toy he doesn't like and is ready to play at the drop of a hat. All you have to do is sit back and watch as he entertains himself in a room full of toys. Ziggy has energy to spare and will appreciate plenty of exercise and playtime every day. His leash manners could use a little work, but training and use of the proper harness will set things straight in a hurry. Ziggy enjoys meeting other dogs at the shelter and also seems to be a fan of kitty cats. This awesome guy will fit into most any lifestyle, so long as he can spend lots of time with his people. A fenced yard would be ideal.

Now take a visit with Pretty Girl!
Pretty Girl- 8 year old SF. If you're looking for a nice, calm cat who'll cuddle and sleep on your lap while watching tv or reading a book, this is the perfect cat for you! Pretty Girl is laid back and sure enjoys her cuddles.

HI, I'M GIGI! I'M A SUPER-SWEET GIRL. PUPPIES ARE VERY NICE BUT WE 'MATURE' GIRLS NEED LOVE TOO!

GiGi has quite a story to tell! You see, she originally came to us as a stray quite a few years ago. After several years of waiting, GiGi was adopted in 2012. We hoped she would live happily ever after, but it was not to be. GiGi was returned to us 6/20/14, as a mature 8-year-old lady. The adopter stated she was unable to cope with GiGi's separation anxiety. (Many dogs suffer from this and there are ways to help alleviate it.) GiGi probably can't be crated, as the previous owner said it terrifies her and makes her more anxious. GiGi has exhibited no signs of separation anxiety at the shelter. She willingly enters her kennel, where she remains calm and quiet. GiGi is very people-oriented and has so much love to give. She's a favorite with staffers and volunteers alike and so looks forward to her one-on-one time with them. GiGi has plenty of pep in her step and a gleam in her eye. She would be the perfect companion for a senior citizen or anyone who spends a lot of time at home. She loves people so much that she may not want to share you with other animals. A meeting between GiGi and any dogs you currently have at home would be necessary, to ensure compatibility. She's best suited for a calm environment with only adults or older, gentle children. GiGi will need patience and guidance as you work together on her house training. Once you meet this darling girl, you'll understand why we think she's so very special. It's time for GiGi's luck to change. Are you the one who will take her home and offer her the love, commitment and respect she deserves? She will pay you back with more devotion than you could ever imagine!

MEET ASHES! Ashes- Can you say handsome?! Ashes came into the shelter with his brother as strays. Though shy at first, he'll warm up to anyone once you get to know this little fellow. He can be very affectionate and playfully if you give him a chance.

Meet Shorty!
This is a handsome, fun-loving boy. Don't let his frosted face concern you. Shorty is full of pep and has a zest for life. He's smart, happy, playful and very inquisitive. He's sure to make you smile many times a day.

Now this is Pearl!
Pearl- 8 year old SF. You'll surely fall in love once you look into Pearl's light green eyes. So pretty! Just don't let her old age fool you though, she may be 8 years old, but that just means she's a mature lady who loves cuddling a little more than play. Pearl also adores having some friends and can feel a little lost without a buddy nearby..
