Your Hometown Country Connection

Hey Tri-State! I wanted to first thank everyone for all the support over the last few years. Working at WAYZ has been an awesome experience and it is mainly because of you. A little about me? Well, I am from Reading, Pa and went to York College to earn my degree in Speech Communication. I am in a sorority, Delta Phi Epsilon, and my sisters have had a huge impact on my life. I have great friends and an even better family. My younger brother David is my best friend and I am so blessed to have such a great sibling. I rescued a 3 legged cat, named Uno, who makes me smile everyday. I have always been a very upbeat, annoying girl who always has a smile on her face. Lastly, I couldn’t imagine working so closely with anyone other than Tiny. Tiny has become one of my greatest friends and I am so glad we got paired up to try and make your mornings a little brighter!  I have always loved radio and microphones and I am so lucky that now I get paid to talk on one. It’s fantastic! Feel free to email me at anytime with requests, stories…anything! Thanks again for making my job the best job in the world.

I am 2 days away from my much anticipated vacation.  Jeff and I are doing a road trip to Nashville and Chicago.  Since we are going to be in a car for a VERYYY long amount of time, I am wondering what you do in the car to pass the time on a long trip.  Are there any games you play that make the time go faster?  I found a list of the most popular things we do in the car to pass the time, but do you have anything to add to it?

 1. 59% watch DVDs.

 2. 51% play video games. Obviously you could choose more than one thing.

 3. 36% listen to music.

 4. 32% stop frequently so the kids don't get bored.

 5. And 27% play old-school car games like I Spy.

I was just in Chicago for a long weekend with my husband...a recommendation to get a taste of a Food tour...we did a "Taste of Chicago" walking food tour through Tastebuds Food was took approximately 3-3 1/2 hrs you walked through a lot of downtown Chicago, heard some history from your tourguide and got to taste foods from about 6 different places including deep dish pizza, a Chicago dawg, we went to the Billy Goat tavern and got a cheeseborger to name a few! Gino's East is a good deep dish pizza place, but some advice..if it's just the 2 of you, you only need a small pizza. My husband and I got a medium (6 slices) and we each could only eat 1. Other restaurants we ate at while we were there were Rosebuds Italian restaurant and The Erie Cafe (good steaks)...both very good! Another we were going to try but couldn't get a reservation was Gibsons for Steak. A tourist destination is Navy Pier...they do fireworks over the summer on Wed and Sat nights. We also did a architectural boat tour up and down the Chicago River which we enjoyed. and of course they have several museums and an aquarium if you like those types of things. We were busy all 3 days and walked pretty much everywhere we went. There were many things that we didn't have time for...I can't wait to go back! If you like heights, there is a building that you can go up 101 floors and walk out onto a all glass balcony and look straight down...looks neat...that's on our agenda for our next trip! We've been to Nashville too, been a few main recommendation there is to bar hop down the main drag and go out a walk through the Opryland hotel if you are not staying is amazing inside! Hope these tips help! Hope you have a blast!
