Gender reveals are becoming more and more wild, and it seems expecting parents keep one-upping one another on social media…but this pair may have gone too far.
A gender-reveal party in Brazil, involved briefly dyeing a waterfall a bright shade of blue. However, the stunt has led to an investigation as to whether or not the reveal violated Brazilian pollution laws or contaminated the water.
The waterfall feeds into a water source for a local city – which has been struggling with severe drought over the past few years.
If charged, the parents could be fined up to $9,263.
The party in Brazil is far from the first gender reveal gone awry. Last year, a Southern California couple was charged with manslaughter after the smoke bomb they used sparked a massive wildfire. Since becoming a trend in 2008, gender-reveal parties have triggered an explosion, caused a plane crash and led to death.
