Have you ever had an embarrassing injury? Maybe an injury where you were just clumsy, and something happened to you where the outcome was more serious than how you actually injured yourself?
I am guilty of this multiple times in my life, and last night I marked another one down on the embarrassing injury list. Below are the embarrassing ways I have injured myself throughout my life. I’m apparently a pretty clumsy guy.
When I was in high school gym class, we were doing layup drills while playing basketball. I went up for a layup, planted my right foot and it just twisted and I toppled over. This wasn’t during a game and absolutely no one was guarding me. I ended up fracturing my ankle.
About 8 or so years ago I was playing church league softball, and as I was rounding third base, I lost my balance and fell with all my weight on my right wrist. I ended up picking myself up and scoring, but I had what was called a buckle fracture on my right wrist.
Now to the recent injury that happened last night. My cat was being obnoxious picking on the other cats we have, and I was trying to shoo him away from them and I smacked my wrist off of a bedside table, hurting it pretty badly. I have not gone to a doctor to diagnose it, as I believe it is only a sprain.
I have had a lot of embarrassing injury moments, but I own them.
