In today’s Honky Tonk Truth, The CMA Fest documentary is coming to ABC, Old Dominion talks about writing in Key West, and Luke Combs’ cover of “Fast Car” is catching everyone’s attention.

  • The CMA Fest documentary “CMA Fest: 50 Years of Fan Fair” is currently streaming on Hulu. But on Tuesday July 18th the documentary will air on ABC at 9/8c. The documentary is 75-minute that includes Dolly Parton, Carrie Underwood, Luke Bryan, and Blake Shelton.

  • Old Dominion’s Memory Lane is currently climbing the charts, and talking with lead singer Matthew Ramsey he shared how much fun it was writing it in Key West:

  • Luke Combs’ cover of Tracy Chapman’s “Fast Car” has caught the world by fire. And Chapman says she’s happy for Luke’s success and is shocked to see herself on the country charts. Also probably doesn’t hurt that Luke’s version has generated about $500,000 in publishing royalties and Chapman receives most of that since she owns both the writer’s and publisher’s share of the song.
