In today’s Honky Tonk Truth, Luke Combs talks Tracy Chapman, Eric Church reflects on what makes country music special, and Jelly Roll makes a dying fan’s wish come true.

  • Luke Combs’ cover of Fast Car recently hit #1 on the charts and a few weeks ago the songs writer and original performer Tracy Chapman said she was thrilled with the success Luke has had with the song. And Luke is grateful that she approves, “I Love that she is out there feeling all the love, and that she gave me a shout-out! Thank you, Tracy!”

  • The CMA Fest aired on national TV, and Eric Church commented on how this massive event really shows how unique the country music community is:

  • Jelly Roll always shows up for his fans and recently a 65-year old Nashville native reached out to him. For years this fan has helped ran a home to help women fight addiction, and has been diagnosed with terminal cancer. Her dying wish was the meet Jelly Roll and see him perform. So Jelly did just that. He met up with her and did a little personal concert for her.
