1.  The actor responsible for “The Voice” in “Field of Dreams” . . . who says “If you build it, he will come” . . . has never been confirmed.  Some people think it’s Kevin Costner or Ray Liotta, and others have claimed it’s Ed Harris.

But the director, Phil Robinson, said a couple years ago that he’s never heard someone guess it correctly, and he thinks it’s fun for it to remain a mystery.

2.  Paul McCartney wrote the song “Woman” for the group Peter and Gordon, but did it under the pseudonym “Bernard Webb” to prove his songs could be hits without his name attached.  It wound up getting to #14 on the Billboard chart.

3.  We’re currently in the longest period ever since the U.S. added a state.  It’s been 64 years since Hawaii became a state.  The previous long stretch was 47 years between Arizona and Alaska.

4.  The reason the majority of police uniforms are blue is because after the Civil War, there was a surplus of blue Army uniforms which were repurposed for police departments.  And the color stuck.

5.  The slogan “Don’t mess with Texas” came from an anti-littering ad campaign in the ’80s.
