In today’s Honky Tonk Truth, Carly Pearce shuts down rumors of a feud between her and Maren Morris, Dan + Shay are on tour, and Luke Combs was told he’d only be a songwriter.
- Carly Pearce recently teamed up with Maren Morris’s ex-husband Ryan Hurd to record a cover of Tom Petty’s “Breakdown” for the upcoming tribute album Petty Country. And people online were quick to assume is was a dig towards Maren Morris somehow. Carly was quick to shut down these rumors saying Ryan is a longtime friend and the label asked her to record with him which she of course said yes.

- It’s hard to believe but when Luke Combs first came to Nashville he was told he’d never be a singer because he didn’t look the part. He was told he should stick to songwriting because he did “look the part”. If anyone looks country its Luke Combs, and he’s been one of the biggest names in the game since.
