In a city that’s launched the careers of hundreds of country stars, Nashville has welcomed an unexpected newcomer to the scene:  Don Graves, a 100-year-old World War 2 veteran.

Don is a former United States Marine who served in the Battle of Iwo Jima . . . and now is the oldest person ever to sign a record deal in Music City.

At a time in life when most people are long dead, Don is just getting started. He marked his milestone birthday not only with cake and candles, but with a microphone and a Nashville recording contract in front of him.

And with his new contract, Don isn’t just singing about history . . . he’s making it.

He’s working with John Rich and Lee Greenwood on putting out his first song, which is called, “The Sand of Iwo Jima”.  It should be released in the next few months
