1.  An episode of “Peppa Pig” called Mister Skinnylegs” was banned in Australia, because they said spiders “can’t hurt you” . . . and spiders in Australia can definitely hurt you.

2.  Disney originally passed on “The Little Mermaid” because they thought its plot conflicted too much with another movie they were planning . . . the sequel to “Splash” called “Splash Too”.  Obviously they changed their mind.

3.  There are 117 colleges whose sports team nickname is the Eagles.  The Hawks is the second-most common with 107 schools . . . then Lions (66), Tigers (66), Cougars (59), Bulldogs (58), Panthers (55), and Bears (51).

4.  Iceland has an official list of legal baby names . . . 1,853 female names and 1,712 male names . . . and you need government permission to give a kid a name that’s not on the list.  The point of the list is to “preserve the Icelandic language.”

5.  Maine made it illegal to put tomatoes in clam chowder in 1939.  It’s not an official law anymore . . . but they still shame tomato chowder fans.
