Today’s Weird News Wednesday is a cool story!
Do you love the movie The Goonies? The remains of a legendary 17th-century shipwreck have been found…the same wreck that supposedly inspired the cult classic! Pieces of the Santo Cristo de Burgos were found in sea caves in Manzanita, Oregon.
The wooden trading ship was carrying silk, porcelain, and beeswax when it disappeared in 1693. It was only found after extensive diving and surveying by volunteers with the Maritime Archaeology Society.
