In a confusing post online last week, you might’ve thought chorizo was in space.
A French scientist posted a picture last week of what he claimed was a detailed picture from the James Webb telescope. It was supposed to be a picture of the star closest to the sun.
It was red disk with white swirls on a black background.
But the picture was actually a piece of chorizo!
The scientist says it was an intentional and he wanted to raise awareness of fake news online.
Which I guess that makes sense, except we’re told to get our news from reliable sources like scientist… and this guy just proved that doesn’t always work!
So, I’d say his goal of raising awareness of fake news online backfired.
